Week 2 of the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris has officially concluded, crowning four historic champions across Dota 2, League of Legends, Free Fire, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women's International (MWI).
Dota 2: PVISION Surpass Regional Rivals in Near-Flawless Run
PARIS, France -- After two weeks of intense competition on the Lenovo Legion Gauntlet stage, PVISION have emerged victorious in Dota 2 at Esports World Cup 2026, righting the wrongs of last year’s semifinal finish. They took on BB Team in a tense grand final match, one which saw both teams prove their worth on the international stage.
With a $2,000,000 prize pool on the line, 24 of the world's best Dota 2 teams faced off to determine who would walk away with the lion's share of the prize pool, along with 1,000 Club Championship points and the trophy.
PVISION took the top spot in the Group C standings without losing a single match, drawing only once against EWC 2025 winners Team Spirit. A near-flawless run through the playoffs saw the team take down Rune Eaters and Team Yandex to lock in a spot at the grand finals. BB Team fought through Nigma Galaxy and Vici Gaming to lock in their grand final placing without dropping a single game.
At the beginning of the best-of-five grand final, a shaky start in game one from PVISION gave opponents BB Team an early advantage. Despite their best efforts, it was a gap that PVISION just couldn’t close and led to the fall of their Ancient. While game two looked to play out the same way, a late show of dominance from PVISION secured the team their first win of the series, tying it at 1-1. They followed with another dominant showing in game three to put BB Team on the ropes, only to deliver a swift and powerful knockout in game four to secure the trophy.
Following the trophy lift, Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov mentioned that he simply "played the fourth game like a public game," as a show of confidence and experience. "Thank you for everyone watching, cheering for us. It's very important for us, and we are trying our best only because of you," said Andrey "Dukalis" Kuropatkin.
Evgeniy "Noticed" Ignatenko was named SONY MVP for his performance during the tournament, earning an extra $25,000. He was instrumental in the team's run throughout the two-week competition, where PVISION only dropped three games in total.
Ahead of the finals, Vici Gaming took on Team Yandex in the battle for third place. In the end, it was Team Yandex who triumphed with a 2-0 sweep, taking the win and the $200,000 third-place share of the prize pool. Against the odds, Rune Eaters secured a top eight placement despite having not qualified for a single LAN this season.
League of Legends: Dplus Kia Sweep Karmine Corp in Paris
PARIS, France -- Dplus Kia have been crowned the League of Legends at Esports World Cup 2026 winners, following a one-sided 3-0 Grand Finals match against Parisian home team Karmine Corp. The result grants the South Korean team their first LAN tournament win of the 2026 season, and their first major international trophy in nearly six years. For their win, Dplus Kia take home $600,000 in winnings, and 1,000 points for the Club Championship.
Their journey to the grand finals was full of challenges, having been sent to the Group Stage lower brackets early on by AG AL. Consecutive best-of-three sweeps saw Dplus Kia beat out Brazil's FURIA and European powerhouse G2 Esports to secure their spot in the playoffs. After upsetting MSI grand finalist and LPL top-seed Bilibili Gaming in the quarterfinals, Dplus Kia bested EWC 2025 winners Gen.G in the semifinals, opening the door to the Grand Finals.
All that stood in their way were fellow underdogs Karmine Corp, who had come from behind to beat LCK titans, EWC 2024 winners, and reigning World Champions, T1 in the semifinals. This set up an epic underdog Grand Finals on French soil.
The first game set the pace for Dplus Kia, who remained a small step ahead of Karmine Corp early in the match before closing it out for a 1-0 start. A late slip by Karmine Corp in game two gave the LCK team the upper hand as they forced their way into a 2-0 lead. Dplus Kia’s final, ultimate show of sheer dominance allowed them to end the tournament in three decisive games and cement their place in EWC history.
"It’s been five years since the international stage, and I’m so proud of myself, and I’m just so excited right now," said Heo "ShowMaker" Su following the grand final. Oh "Career" Hyung-suk added: "In the early phase of the bot lane in Game 3, I realized we got our first kills, we’re on 2-0, it’s a great start and I’m on a champion that I’m confident on. That’s the moment I felt I won."
Sin "Smash" Guem-jae was named SONY MVP for his performance during the tournament, a first for the 19-year old, earning an extra $25,000. He finished the tournament with a huge 8.1 KDA statistic while celebrating his birthday in historic style.
In the third-place match, Gen.G ultimately came out on top over T1 with a 2-1 finish, locking in third place and the $220,000 share of the prize pool.
Free Fire: LYON Victorious in Dramatic Grand Final
PARIS, France -- LYON have been crowned the Free Fire at Esports World Cup 2026 champions, following a thrilling finale in which four teams entered the decisive game with a chance of lifting the trophy.
The Latin American team overcame 11 rivals in the Grand Final to secure the $300,000 first-place prize, qualification for the Free Fire World Series Global Finals, and 1,000 points in the EWC 2026 Club Championship.
LYON produced a standout performance on their way to the title. In Game 5, the team set a new competition record by scoring 45 points in a single game, combining 33 eliminations with 12 placement points from securing the first-place “Booyah.”
LYON’s Benjamín “Gamezking” Pérez was named the Sony MVP after recording 60 eliminations and 71 knockdowns across the tournament. Speaking candidly about his mental health struggles, Gamezking shared: “I’m really happy. It’s been a rough couple of months for me, dealing with my anxiety. Every single trip is a struggle for me. I’m really, really happy to be Champions with my team. Thank you very much to all my teammates, because without them I wouldn’t be MVP.”
Heading into Game 6, both LYON and AG.AL achieved Champion Rush Point Eligibility. In Game 7, LYON maintained their composure as the safe zone rapidly closed. The LATAM squad eliminated Team Apex Gaming before sweeping up a three-way fight between LOUD and AG.AL in the dwindling circle, securing their final 'Booyah' and the title.
Coach Eric "SoyDella" Martínez expressed his gratitude: “I’m just extremely happy and extremely grateful to be able to have these teammates.” Defending champions EVOS Divine struggled in the Grand Finals, finishing in 10th place.
MLBB MWI: Team Vitality Retain Crown as Queens of Esports World Cup
PARIS, France -- Team Vitality have been crowned the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Women's International (MWI) at Esports World Cup 2026 champions, securing their second EWC win and their fourth MWI title overall.
Proving themselves to be juggernauts of the scene, the French Club with an Indonesian roster secured $150,000 in prize money and 1,000 Club Championship points.
Standing in their way were Natus Vincere PH, who had previously defeated Vitality back at MWI 2024. In a historical Grand Finals rematch, NAVI took the first game before Vitality pushed back forcefully to lead 2-1. Reaching match point in Game 6, Team Vitality sealed a 4-2 victory across the best-of-seven series to hold onto their crowns on home soil in Paris.
“I saw how hard my team works, and I think we really deserved this victory,” said Michelle "Chell" Siswanto. “I just want to say to NAVI, if you guys really wanted to win this time - not a chance.”
Viorelle "Vival" Chen was named the SONY MVP—her second career MVP title—taking home an additional $25,000. “This year’s MWI is held in Paris, which is the home ground of Team Vitality, and we dedicate this win to everyone, to our fans. It was a blast,” said Vival.
In the third-place match, Geltek Cyber Team (GCT), the only European team to reach the Knockout Stage, swept Galaxy Phoenix 3-0 to claim $50,000 and 500 Club Championship points.
